Overview
Boardrooms make some of the most influential decisions in the country, but do they reflect society and understand intergenerational challenges, which have been exacerbated by COVID-19?
In this session we will hear from James McMillan, NED and Chair of the Audit Committee at Stockport Credit Union. James is one of the youngest people to win the Institute of Director's Director of the Year Award and will share insights into how young professionals can take to secure their first NED role.
Our second panellist is Mark Freebairn, a Partner and Head of the Board Practice, and Financial Management Practice of executive search firm Odgers Berndtson. He has seven years of experience as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of GlobalData plc, and also sits on the Remuneration Committee for the ICAEW.
Chaired by Julia Root-Gutteridge, Board Effectiveness Manager, ICAEW, this exciting panel will provide practical insights into the opportunities and challenges of building a generationally diverse board.
